Sidharth Malhotra was not offered the lead role in Rowdy Rathore 2
A recent report claimed that Sidharth Malhotra was not offered the lead role in the sequel of Rowdy Rathore.
Akshay Kumar’s Rowdy Rathore was one of the biggest blockbusters when it first came out. The film was recently in the limelight again due to rumors of a possible sequel. It has been claimed in many reports Sidharth Malhotra probably playing a major role. It was then speculated that the actor had declined to act in it due to his commitments to the Indian police force. There were also rumors that there would be no sequel to the 2012 blockbuster film.
Now in a latest development, a source has revealed that Sidharth Malhotra was not offered the lead role earlier.
According to a report in entertainment portal Peepingmoon, while it is true that Rowdy Rathore 2 is in the process of pre-production and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 fame Anees Bazmee will direct it, the cast and other technical details are yet to be formalised. The film is currently being written and producers Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Shabina Khan will make up their mind only after the script is ready. The source added, “Akshay Kumar could be in for a role in the Rowdy Rathore sequel, and why would anyone think of not casting him? But he hasn’t been offered the film yet, considering that the script is yet to be completed.” Has not happened.
The report further claimed that Sidharth Malhotra came to know about the project from his wife Kiara Advani, who played the lead role in Anees Bazmee’s sequel Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2. The rejected role is nothing but speculative. “This is someone spreading false information in a PR aggressive manner,” the source alleged.
Meanwhile, Rowdy Rathore 2 is expected to go on floors by the middle of next year. The makers are currently engrossed in other projects including an action comedy and another film with Shahid Kapoor. The source revealed, “Rowdy Rathore was a huge blockbuster and the makers don’t want to go ahead with the sequel without a proper script with a strong story to justify the first part. The scripting is going on in full swing and as soon as the final The draft will be finalized, the makers will start contacting the actors.
