Chennai: A gang hacked rowdy — involved in a murder case — on death row Vyasarpadi in Chennai. The deceased has been identified as 44-year-old Hari, a resident of JJ Nagar. The police have arrested eight accused.
Initial interrogation revealed that Hari and his son were involved in the murder of rowdy Prabhu alias Pabloo Andra Pradesh In 2017 the police said that Hari was murdered by Prabhu’s associates and friends.
On Monday night, when he was talking to his wife outside their house, the gang attacked him. Seriously injured, Hari was taken to Government Stanley Hospital where he died on Tuesday morning.
MKB Nagar police nabbed eight suspects hiding in Ambattur within hours. The arrested people have been identified as Santosh, Praveen, Ajit, Shankar, Basu, Sanjay, Ganesh and Kumar. The police detained him at a secluded place and is interrogating him.
