Rohit Sharma looks at popular Indian rapper Rishabh Pant

Ahead of the India vs England Test series, Rohit Sharma posted a picture of wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant on social media. Both Rohit and Pant are currently in England as part of Team India’s Test tour of England. Pant joined the Bio-Bubble on July 22 after recovering from COVID-19. After losing the final of the World Test Championship (WTC) in Southampton, the Virat Kohli-led side will be looking for redemption.

India opener Rohit compared Pant’s look to that of famous rapper Badshah. In the picture, the young cricketer is wearing a white T-shirt, a chunky silver chain around his neck and yellow sunglasses. Sharing this on Instagram, Rohit wrote in the caption, “Here is our own Badshah.” The 23-year-old immediately replied saying, “Hahaha, what a brother.” Cricketer Kedar Jadhav, among others, also reacted to the post and commented, “Our own chacha Nehru.”

Badshah, whose real name is Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia, is a rapper from Delhi. He entered the scene with his very successful debut single, DJ Wale Babu.

Speaking about Pant, his COVID-19 diagnosis precluded him from being a part of India’s three-day practice game against County Select XI. After the end of the third day’s play, the practice match ended in a draw. His scores in the Australia Test series and the home series against England are a testament to Pant’s tremendous form in Test matches in recent times.

The upcoming India vs England five-match Test series is set to begin on August 4. In February this year, England played a Test series in India and lost 1-3 to the hosts. The Joe Root-led side would like to make a sensational comeback in the upcoming Test matches against India.

The first Test match will be played at Trent Bridge and the fifth and final Test will be played at Old Trafford Cricket Ground from 10 to 14 September.
