Rohit Sharma let out a huge roar of anger as Tilak Verma didn’t dive to attempt a catch off Shubman Gill and the latter went on to score a century

Mumbai Indians skipper Rohit Sharma was furious at Tilak Verma after the Gujarat Titans opener did not dive to take a catch off Shubman Gill, who was batting on 37. As he took his side to a mammoth score of 233/3 in 20 overs.

Gujarat Titans went on to win the match by 62 runs as Mohit Sharma took five wickets to restrict Mumbai to a mammoth total of 171.

Suryakumar Yadav was the lone warrior for his team with a blistering 38-ball 61 but 7 MI batsmen failed to reach double digits in the winning game.

Gill was mainly destructive against Mumbai as it was his century that put GT in a commanding position. But it could have all been very different had Tim David or Tilak managed to get the 23-year-old out.

Verma, playing after missing the last few matches due to injury, didn’t dive and let the ball bounce in front of him, much to the chagrin of Rohit.

The incident took place on the fourth ball of the eighth over of GT’s innings, when Gill was also dropped by Tim David when he was batting on 30. Dives and Rohit vents his anger.

After two let-offs, Gill brought up his third century this season in 49 balls before he was eventually dismissed as David made no mistake for the second time on the night.

The GT opener had already done damage, scoring 129 off 60 balls, while Hardik Pandya smashed 28 off 13 balls to give Gujarat a fine finish.
