The Rohini Court of Delhi gave an important decision on Monday. In which it was said that if money is withdrawn from the account of a customer, that is, he becomes a victim of fraud, then banks will be responsible for it. The case was related to a 77-year-old man, in which Rs 7 lakh was withdrawn from his account through fake cheques. This elder was fighting the case against the bank in the court for the last 15 years.

The bank will pay both the amount and the interest.
During the hearing, the court said that the retirement and pension money of the elderly was deposited in the bank. If someone else withdraws their money by signing fake checks, then it means that there are flaws in the bank itself. Hence it is the responsibility of the bank to pay the amount. Not only this, the court also said that the bank will also give 9% interest of the total expenditure from the filing of the petition to the payment of the amount.

this was the whole matter
The old man had an account in Syndicate Bank, in 2007 he had nine lakh rupees in his account. He had spent two and a half lakhs. After this, 1.25 lakh were left in the bank. The elderly had retired from the post of senior clerk from the education department in the Delhi government. After this he went to the bank on 6 July 2007 to collect his passbook. On updating the passbook, he came to know that there is not even a single rupee in the account. When it was checked, it was found that all the money was withdrawn through three checks.

If the bank did not cooperate, then applied to the court
Why and how the money was withdrawn, when the bank elder did not support him in this matter, then the elder applied in the consumer court. But even from there he was disappointed. The decision could not be taken due to lack of evidence. Then he complained to the Banking Ombudsman. The Ombudsman referred the matter to the General Manager, Reserve Bank of India.

During investigation, it was found that someone had withdrawn money by making a fake sign. The elder had also told in the court that he did not even have the check book of that series, despite this, he kept fighting the case in the court for 15 years.
