Rohini court sent two main accused to one day police custody, 12 others to judicial custody

New Delhi: According to the report of news agency ANI, the Rohini Court has sent two main accused of Jahangirpuri clash to one day police custody. The two main accused have been identified as Ansar and Aslam.

Delhi Police on Sunday produced 14 accused in Rohini Court. Of those produced, 12 have been sent to judicial custody for 14 days by the court, advocate Vikas Verma told ANI.

The Delhi Police alleged in the court that the accused came to know about the Shobha Yatra on April 15 and hatched a conspiracy.

“We have to go through the CCTV footage and identify others involved in the case,” the police said.

Meanwhile, North-West DCP Usha Rangnani told ANI that 20 people have been arrested so far in the Jahangirpuri violence case. She also said that two of them were teenagers.

20 accused have been arrested in Jahangirpuri violence case and 2 juveniles who violated the law have also been arrested. 3 pistols and 5 swords have been recovered from the possession of the accused. Further investigation is underway,” she said.

The FIR has been registered on April 16 under sections 147, 148, 149, 186, 353, 332, 323, 427, 436, 307, 120B and 27 of the Arms Act of the IPC.

The incident took place on Saturday when a mob pelted stones at a procession on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, leading to a clash between the two groups. Eight policemen and another were injured in the clashes on Saturday evening.

High security has been deployed in the area after the incident.

“Following the sensitive Delhi incident, a flag march is being conducted by the police with an aim to create an atmosphere of trust and safety for the public. I appeal to the public to maintain peace and not pay heed to rumours,” Lav Kumar, Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) told ANI
