Iraqi security sources said at least two rockets were fired at Baghdad’s fortified Green Zone early Thursday, but there were no casualties.
Sources said that one rocket landed in a parking lot inside the green zone and the other landed in a nearby vacant area.
The green zone hosts foreign embassies and government buildings and is regularly the target of rockets fired by groups that US and Iraqi officials say are backed by Iran.
