Ludhiana: A robber was killed and the bank manager was injured in an attempt to rob a bank in Ludhiana on Saturday morning.
Three people entered the Sunder Nagar branch of Muthoot Fincorp in an attempted robbery. However, the employees protested and thwarted their plan.
The branch manager was shot after the robbers opened fire. A robber was also killed by a bank security guard.
Assistant Commissioner of Police Dharampal said that the incident happened at around 10.30 am. After the robbers broke inside, they asked the staff to hand over the gold, but the branch manager resisted, he said.
According to eyewitnesses, the second robber was caught by the onlookers while the third robber managed to escape. However, the police have not yet confirmed this.
