Riyan Parag’s mother’s message to her son is encouraging yet emotional

Inaugural Indian Premier League (IPL) Champions Rajasthan Royals (RR) resumed their campaign in the ongoing second leg of IPL Season 14 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) on Tuesday, 21 September. The team defeated the team led by KL Rahul by two runs on the last ball. Despite Punjab’s win, young and upcoming cricketer Riyan Parag has come under heavy criticism for his lack of contribution to the team’s achievement. Parag, batting at number 6, could only manage four runs in five balls on the batting friendly surface of the Dubai International Stadium.

Parag too failed to make an impact with the ball for Rajasthan as he conceded 16 runs in the only over he bowled. After the match, many cricket fans started questioning his position in Rajasthan’s playing XI, saying that he has failed to make an impact. RR in IPL so far.

Following such backlash from cricket fans, the 19-year-old cricketer has shared a message from his mother on Twitter, saying that she always knows how he is feeling. “Mother. She knows. Always,” Parag captioned the WhatsApp screengrab on Twitter.

“How are you Baba? Don’t stop believing in your abilities,” the message read.

Moving on to Parag’s IPL career, he has played 27 Indian Premier League matches so far and scored 328 runs including one half-century. He has also taken three wickets in the cash-rich league. In the ongoing IPL season, he has scored 82 runs and picked up just one wicket in eight matches in which he has represented Rajasthan Royals (RR).

On Saturday, when Rajasthan take on Delhi Capitals (DC), Parag will be hoping to make an impact on the scoreboard for his team.

Following their win over Punjab, Rajasthan have now moved up to fifth in the IPL table with eight points from eight matches, one place below the play-off berth.
