Rishabh Pant has been ruled out of the ongoing edition as he is still recovering from multiple injuries sustained during the horrific car accident last year.

Flamboyant wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant visited the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru to encourage his Delhi Capitals teammates in their training session ahead of the mega clash against Royal Challengers Bangalore. Pant, who led the Capitals in the last three seasons, has been ruled out of the ongoing edition as he is still recovering from multiple injuries sustained during the horrific car accident last year.

Delhi Capitals are yet to open their account in the points table after losing four consecutive matches. The David Warner-led side have failed to put together a collective effort on the field and their batting has been weak so far in the tournament.

The franchise will be missing Pant’s services and the southpaw has been consistently showing support to his team with his social media activities. His presence at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on the eve of the RCB clash has definitely boosted the team’s morale as the DC players looked happy to see their skipper at the training session.

“Look who turned up at @DelhiCapitals training in Bengaluru. Hello @RishabhPant17 #TATAIPL | #RCBvDC,” the IPL official Twitter handle captioned the post.

Earlier, Pant made an appearance during the Indian Premier League match between Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Pant watched the match from the stands along with DC owner, Parth Jindal and BCCI honorary secretary Jay Shah, before heading to the team’s dressing room.

His presence boosted the confidence of the Capitals but it was not enough for them to collect two crucial points. The fans cheered loudly for the home team but it was not an ideal homecoming for the Capitals as Hardik Pandya’s Gujarat Titans registered a 6-wicket win.

Delhi have brought in Abhishek Porel in place of Pant for this season and the young wicketkeeper from Bengal has been impressive behind the stumps so far.

Meanwhile, DC will look to end their four-match losing streak this season in their next match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, who are going through a lean patch with two back-to-back defeats.
