Kolkata Knight Riders batting sensation Rinku Singh put up another masterclass on Sunday. Batting against Chennai Super Kings at Chepauk, the Aligarh batsman scored 54 off 43 balls and stitched a 99-run partnership with skipper Nitish Rana to help Kolkata beat Kolkata by 6 wickets. In fact, the duo saved KKR from a 99-run partnership in their chase of 145 when the team was 33 for 3 in the first five overs.

While Rana returned unbeaten on 57, Rinku fell victim to a direct hit by Moeen Ali while stealing a quick single. His innings was studded with 3 sixes and 4 fours, while the KKR skipper hit 6 fours and a maximum.

Rinku Singh has been the wonder boy for Kolkata Knight Riders this season of IPL. He continued his fine form with another match-winning innings, which earned him praise from JioCinema IPL expert Parthiv Patel.

Earlier, a disciplined bowling effort by the Knight Riders ensured that Chennai were restricted to a modest 144 with Shivam Dube top-scoring with 48 off 34 balls. Sunil Narine was one of the bowlers and returned with figures of 2/15.

With this win, four teams are on 12 points and are separated only by net run rate – Royal Challengers Bangalore, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders and Punjab Kings. Chennai Super Kings remain at the second spot with 15 points.
