The good news: Thanks to the quick, swift intervention by Indian Customs, my medal has cleared Customs and will be delivered tomorrow. Just got a call from FedEx. This would not be possible without customs officers going over and above their duty to ensure this.

Speaking exclusively to News18.com before the good news reached him, Cage had said that he would wait to reach his Grammy award as per the procedure. He said that he had tweeted about the delay only to bring it to the notice of the authorities.
After Cage tweeted about the delay, Commissioner City Customs, Bangalore asked the Grammy winner for an airway bill number or any reference number that would help track a package that was sent via FedEx. The musician obliged and urged social media users not to blame customs.
I would sincerely request everyone not to blame customs for this. Maybe they don’t know what the product is.. or what its purpose is. They are probably following the process. The purpose of this tweet was to tell them about the package and hopefully they will release it to me.

Just a few weeks back, Ricky Cage tweeted about his harrowing experience at the immigration counter at the Bengaluru airport on his way back from the Cannes Film Festival. “Pathetic condition of immigration at Bengaluru International Airport. Been in line for over an hour. Presently more than 1000 people are waiting, all counters are not working, staff are unaware, incompetent. Why are there so many flights at @BLR airport when there is no capacity?”
Cage also shared a video of a long queue of passengers waiting at immigration. This comes just a month after Biocon chief Kiran Mazumdar Shaw angrily tweeted about the immigration facilities at KIA.
Shaw also expressed disappointment over the delay in Cage’s Grammy medal.
This is shocking and shameful. What’s with our customs? https://t.co/pUhYwZpQZW
