Richa was dismissed only twice in five innings in the tournament and scored at a strike rate of over 130 which further demonstrated her attacking prowess.

Young wicketkeeper-batsman Richa Ghosh was the only Indian among the nine players selected for the Women’s T20 World Cup Player of the Tournament.

India crashed out of the semi-finals after a five-run loss against five-time champions Australia in Cape Town on Thursday.

The 19-year-old shone in his role as a finisher in South Africa.

He made two scores in his 40s, including an unbeaten 47 against England that led his team to victory.

Richa was dismissed only twice in five innings in the tournament and scored at a strike rate of over 130 which further demonstrated her attacking prowess.

Overall he scored 168 runs at an average of 68. He also impressed with his agility behind the stumps and took a shout for the dismissal of English opener Danny Wyatt.

The ICC shortlist is dominated by players from Australia, which includes three from the defending champions, two from England and South Africa. India And the West Indies have one each.

Captain Meg Lanning (139 runs at 69.50), wicket-keeper batsman Alyssa Healy (171 runs at 57) and all-rounder Ash Gardner (81 runs and nine wickets) were the Australians in the list.

All-rounder Nat Sciver-Brunt (216 runs, average 72) and spinner Sophie Ecclestone, who took 11 wickets at a decent economy of 4.15, were selected from England.

The two South African players were Laura Wolvaardt, who played a key role in helping the team reach the final, and opening batsman Tazmin Brits.

The Brits saved their best for the all-important performance with a stylish 68 against England in Friday’s semi-final.

West Indies captain Hayley Mathews, who produced a sensational all-round performance with 130 runs and four wickets, completed the list.
