According to the data released by the Registrar General of India (RGI) on Thursday, more than 51,000 Indian babies were born in more than 170 countries in the year 2020. At the same time, about 10,817 Indians died abroad.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has the highest number of children born abroad in 2020, according to the RGI report ‘India’s Vital Statistics based on Civil Registration System for 2020’. The report said that in 2020 on foreign lands Registration of births and deaths of Indian citizens was done in Indian Missions and Posts abroad under the Citizenship Act 1955.

Most children born in UAE
According to the report, in the year 2020, 51,089 Indian children were born in 170 countries. The highest number of such children was in the UAE, where 16,469 Indian children were born. At the same time, the number of Indian children born in Saudi Arabia stood at 6074.

37 in America, 4 in Pakistan
Apart from this, the number of Indian children born in other countries was 4202 in Kuwait, 3936 in Qatar, 2352 in Italy, 2316 in Australia, 2177 in Oman, 1567 in Bahrain, 1400 in Germany and 1358 in Singapore. At the same time, 768 children were born in Spain, 620 in South Africa, 578 in Britain, 388 in Sweden, 156 in Zambia, 37 in America and 4 in Pakistan.

Most Indians died in Saudi Arabia
At the same time, according to the report, out of a total of 10,817 Indians who lost their lives abroad in the year 2020, 3754 died in Saudi Arabia. Apart from this, 2454 Indians died in UAE, 1279 in Kuwait, 630 in Oman, 386 in Qatar, 312 in Bahrain, 254 in US, 216 in Italy, 166 in Singapore, 19 in UK and six in Pakistan.
