Thiruvananthapuram: A review meeting was held in the Collectorate on Wednesday under the upcoming by-elections in four local body wards of the district. Vettukadu Ward in Municipal Corporation, Edakkodu Ward in Chirayinkeezhu Block Panchayat, Pothenkode in Pothenkode Block Panchayat and Ponnamchundu Ward in Vithura Gram Panchayat are such wards where rate choice will be held. Counting of votes will take place on December 8. Earlier the model code of conduct had come into force.
The notification was issued on November 12. Nominations can be submitted till November 19 and scrutiny will be done on November 20. Nominations can be withdrawn till November 22. The election will be in compliance with the COVID containment protocol.
Nominations will be accepted from 11 am to 3 pm. Only candidate, election agent, nominee and person nominated by the candidate will be allowed at the time of scrutiny. The final list of candidates will be published on November 22 after 3 pm. Symbols will be allotted after the publication of the final list.
