Vaccine is the most effective weapon against corona. This has been confirmed in a survey of 2.9 lakh corona patients in Mumbai. The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) surveyed 2 lakh 90 thousand corona patients from January 1 to June 17. It was found that not only the second dose of the vaccine, but the first dose also works better.

According to the survey, out of 2.9 lakh people, only 26 came under the grip of corona after the second dose. At the same time, 10 thousand 500 people got infected after applying the first dose. If we look at the BMC data, between January 1, 2021 and June 17, 2021, about 40 lakh 75 thousand 393 people got the vaccine in Mumbai. Out of this, only 0.23% people were found to be corona infected.

Most of them were patients with home isolation. According to BMC, during this time more than 1 lakh people were also admitted in the hospital, their entry is yet to be done.

BMC’s Executive Health Officer Dr. Mangala Gomare said that we expect to see the same trend in them as well. He told that we had asked to submit the data of patients admitted in all the hospitals separately, most of the hospitals have given their reports. He added, ‘These numbers show that vaccines are effective in preventing serious infections in most populations.’

10 lakh people got both the corona vaccines in Mumbai
According to the latest government data, 53.83 lakh people have been vaccinated in Mumbai so far, of which 10 lakh people have been given both doses.
