SRESHTA is envisioned to provide access to free high quality residential education from class 9 to 12 to meritorious poor students of Scheduled Caste community, whose parents’ annual income is up to Rs 2.5 lakh per annum.
Under the scheme, every year around 3,000 meritorious Scheduled Caste students from States/Union Territories are selected for SRESHTA (NETS) conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) through a transparent mechanism of National Entrance Test, the ministry said in a statement. will be done through , Selected students will be given admission in class 9 and 11 in best private residential schools affiliated to CBSE to complete their education up to class 12th.
