Rescheduled JKAS Mains Exam: National Conference MP to JKPSC

National Conference MP Hasnain Masoodi on Sunday asked the Jammu and Kashmir Public Service Commission (JKPSC) to reschedule the administrative services main examinations, saying the dates clash with those of other examinations. He said that the notice of the Commission regarding the dates of the examination has irked the candidates as the time duration should have been 30 days, as was the norm.

NC MP from Anantnag Masoodi flagged off the issue along with both LG’s advisor Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar and JKPSC chairman Brij Rai Sharma. The MP pointed out to both that candidates appearing for the Public Service Commission Main Examination (PSC Mains) are caught in a catch-22 situation as the exam dates clash with other exam dates, especially with the UPSC interview. He said that no gap is left before optional papers in the date sheet published by JKPSC, which is ideal for every competitive exam including UPSC.

“Most of the candidates are already going through the interview stage of various other exams, which is clashing with the date. Moreover, the five-day ultimatum before the commencement of the exam on April 7 has added to the problems of the candidates as most of them are working or studying in different parts of the country. manage to come back on such a short notice. The commission’s notice has left them shocked and upset as they expected more time to prepare.” Calling for the rescheduling of the main examination, he directed the chairman of JKPSC and the advisor to the LG to give details of the candidates due to such date sheets. Influenced to be sympathetic to the problems faced, which is rejecting the ongoing holy month of Ramzan and the nine-day long Navratri festival, and then the Ram Navami festival.

“Candidates need to prepare extensively for this demanding exam. Declaring the examinations at this time clearly shows that the decision is blind to a plethora of practical considerations,” Masoodi said, adding that he has been assured that the administration will do everything possible to ensure that candidates do not undergo pressure. .
