Republic Day 2023: Traffic Advisory in Delhi for Rehearsal Parade, Commuters Asked to Avoid THESE Routes

Traffic will be restricted from Vijay Chowk to India Gate on the duty path from 6 pm on Sunday and will remain so till the parade is over.

Ahead of the Republic Day 2023 rehearsal parade on Monday, the Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory for commuters, listing routes to avoid and planning their journeys in advance. Delhiites have also been advised to opt for Metro ride as many roads may be congested due to the parade.

The rehearsal will start from Vijay Chowk at 10.30 am and will pass through Duties Path, C-Hexagon, a round statue of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Tilak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and Netaji Subhash Marg before ending at the Red Fort. ,

Here are all the traffic directions you need to know:

  1. Commuters have been asked to avoid Illak Marg, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg and Subhash Marg from 10.30 am as traffic will not be allowed in both the directions on these routes. Also, cross-traffic will be allowed only depending on the speed of the parade.
  2. Traffic remained restricted from Vijay Chowk to Chowk on duty path India The gate will start at 6 pm on Sunday and the prohibitory orders will remain in force till the parade gets over on Monday.
  3. Motorists have been asked to follow traffic rules and follow the directions of personnel posted at intersections.
  4. Cross-traffic was barred from entering the duty path on Rafi Marg, Janpath and Man Singh Road from 11 pm on Sunday and will remain so till the parade ends.
  5. Commuters have been advised to avoid the parade route from 9.30 am to 1 pm and instead travel by metro as much as possible.
  6. Metro services will be available at all stations during the dress rehearsal ceremony. However, boarding and deboarding will not be allowed at Central Secretariat and Udyog Bhawan stations from 5 am to 12 noon.
  7. There is no restriction on movement from North Delhi to New Delhi Railway Station or Old Delhi Railway Station, but people have been asked to plan their travel well in advance to avoid possible delay in consultation.

Guidelines on movement of buses in Delhi

Movement of city buses in Delhi will be curtailed at Park Street/Udyan Marg, Aram Bagh Road (Paharganj), Kamla Market roundabout, Delhi Secretariat (IG Stadium), Pragati Maidan (Bhairon Road), Hanuman Mandir (Yamuna Bazar), Mori Gate , ISBT Kashmere Gate, ISBT Sarai Kale Khan and Tis Hazari Court

Buses going from Ghaziabad to Shivaji Stadium will take NH-24, Ring Road and terminate at Bhairon Road. The advisory states that people coming from NH-24 shall take right turn on Road No. 56 and terminate at ISBT Anand Vihar. Buses coming from Ghaziabad will be diverted from Mohan Nagar towards Bhopra Chungi for Wazirabad Bridge.
