Since the announcement of the Agneepath scheme by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, violent protests are going on in other states including UP-Bihar. What is the stand of Gahmar village of Ghazipur on this plan? To know about this, Dainik Bhaskar reached Ground Zero. Gahmar village is 40 km away from Ghazipur district headquarter. Ghazipur is the land of Veer Abdul Hameed.

We spoke to 5 ex-servicemen and 5 such youth who are dreaming of joining the army. Out of 10 people, only one ex-serviceman called Agneepath as the right move by the government. The remaining 9 people were seen in opposition to it. People say that in case of war the army will be weak. Because Agniveers will not have the same self-confidence as soldiers.

  • First of all, we know one by one the words of those who have spent many years of their life in the army…

Violent protest is not a good thing, protest in a constitutional way
Former soldier Rudra Pratap Singh said, ‘This scheme is good for the youth. This will remove unemployment as well as the spirit of doing something for the country will also be born in the youth. Youth will get to learn a lot in 4 years. Violent protests are not a good thing. If anyone wants to protest, it should be done in a constitutional way.

Youth will not be able to trend in 4 years
Ex-serviceman Manikraj Singh said, ‘This scheme is not good. Such a system will spoil the life of the youth. In 4 years he will not be able to become a full soldier. This will also affect the purpose of their life. Talking about the army being hi-tech is completely meaningless. In general also, different types of training are given in the army every few years.

3- Scheme playing with youth in the name of employment
Former soldier Nand Kishore Yadav said, ‘This scheme is playing with the youth. It takes 7-8 years to become a soldier. In such a situation, how can Agniveer make his full contribution to the army, the government should implement it by removing the shortcomings of this scheme.

4- The scheme will prove to be dangerous even for the soldiers of the army
Former soldier Lallan Yadav said, ‘This will not only make the country safe. For the soldiers of the army, this decision of the government will prove to be dangerous, because the firefighters who have taken 4 years of training will not have the same confidence as the soldiers. If war breaks out, they will prove to be the weak link.

5- Will you get martyr status on sacrifice?
Brijesh Singh, an ex-serviceman, said, “There are many loopholes in this plan. During the service of 4 years, if a war-like situation arises and Agniveer is killed, will he be given martyr status? This is also not mentioned in this plan. 4 years will be spent in his training. When will he serve the country? It looks like a suicidal decision.

Now let’s know about the youth who have dreamed of joining the army and are preparing for recruitment…

How to trust the employment promise of the government?
Golu Singh said, ‘After 4 years, there is talk of giving jobs, whereas the government has proved to be unsuccessful in providing jobs at present. So how much trust should be given to the promise? The downside of this scheme is that you will leave the youth after 4 years by training them. Later it is not necessary that he will work only in the interest of the country. The opposition to this plan is justified.

Government should secure the future of youth by taking them into the army
Anand Mohan Singh said, if jobs are not available to the youth after 4 years, then what will that youth do. Some improvements should be made to this plan. The government may reduce the pension and salary a little, but after taking the youth into the army, protect their future.

Crisis on the future of youth due to the scheme, will find new options
Young Ram Govind said, there is some good and some bad in this scheme. You will get a job for 4 years only. This is not right. This will affect the future of the youth as well as the army. After a time the youth will have to look for another job.

Recruitment should be done for the army like before
Sunil Kumar said, ‘The government continues to take out recruitments as before. 4 year job recruitment is not good. When the youth will reach the age of 25, then where will they find a job. Overall, this scheme will give more relief to the youth, less tension.

Scam in the scheme, picture not clear on many things
Young Praveen Upadhyay said, ‘There are many loopholes in this scheme. After 4 years, the government is asking to give some money. But at that time inflation would have increased even more. Where will the youth go after 4 years? The opposition to this plan is justified.

Agneepath is short-term youth recruitment scheme, 46 thousand will be recruited
Defense Minister Rajnath Singh announced the launch of a scheme named Agneepath on 14 June. Agneepath Scheme is a nationwide short-term youth recruitment scheme for the Armed Forces. In this, youth will be recruited in the armed forces for four years. The youth selected under the scheme will be called Agniveers. The deployment of soldiers will be in various places including desert, mountain, land, sea or air. There is a plan to induct about 46,000 youth into the armed forces this year.
