KOLKATA: KMDA is planning to take up repair of Chingrighata flyover, Bagmari bridge and Bankim Setu before Pujas while the urban development department is planning to initiate the process of dismantling and reconstructing the dilapidated Chitpore rail bridge in consultation with Railway authorities.
While KMDA has planned short-term repairs of Chingrighata flyover, the 100-year-old Bagmari bridge – stretching about 350m over Circular Canal on Maniktala Main Road – will undergo normal repairs with plastering of eroded spots, patch-up of the concrete and installation of new railings. As for Bankim Setu, the authorities plan to take up normal repair and strengthening work.
KMDA has razed the Chetla lock gate bridge to build a new one, and is working on major repairs of Baghajatin ROB. It will also conduct structural health assessment of Maa flyover.
