‘Remove Besharam Rang If…’ Says Ex-CBFC Head Asha Parekh, Reacting To ‘Ban Pathaan’ Calls

Former CBFC chief Asha Parekh repents on the ongoing controversy regarding Pathan. The veteran actress suggested deleting the song Besharam Rang, which has been in the news since its release due to Deepika Padukone’s saffron bikini, to ensure smooth release of the film. However, she clarified that she does not support such ‘bullying’.

On the controversy surrounding the saffron bikini seen in the song, Parekh said, “Why is a particular color being stamped? Every color is equally beautiful. Orange was the favorite color of many of us actresses. Imagine being told, don’t wear this color don’t wear that color. This is the height of bullying. No community can claim ownership of any colour.”

While Pathan’s team is yet to address the controversy, it is reported that the CBFC has certified the film U/A and ordered 10 cuts. As per a report in ETimes, the CBFC has decided to let Deepika’s saffron bikini stay “as it is in Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathan”.
