90-year-old Reena Chhibber, a resident of Pune, Maharashtra, reached Pakistan via Wagah Birder on Saturday. Reena’s ancestral home is in Prem Niwas, Rawalpindi, Pakistan. After the partition in 1947, Reena has gone to Pakistan for the first time to see her ancestral home and meet friends.

In a video uploaded on social media, he told that his family lived on Devi College Road in Rawalpindi during the partition of the country.

never forget ancestral home
Pakistan has given him a 3-month visa under goodwill gesture. Reena Chhibber has requested the governments of both the countries to ease the visa process. Reena had applied for Pakistani visa many times before, but she could not get the visa.

Reena said that she can never forget her ancestral home, neighbors and those streets. When she came to India after Partition, she was only 15 years old.

Muslim friends often came home
In the video uploaded on social media, Reena says, ‘My siblings and I used to study in Modern School, while one of my brothers and sister used to study in Gordon College. My elder brothers and sisters used to have many Muslim friends who often came home. My father was open minded and had no problem with boys and girls getting together.

Reena said, before the partition of the country, there was no issue like Hindu-Muslim. It all started after independence. The partition of India was certainly wrong. Since this has happened, now the two governments should work together and ease visa restrictions.
