Live bird found inside cockpit of Air India Express Bahrain-Kochi flight

A live bird was found in the cockpit of Air India Express’s Bahrain-Kochi flight on July 15, officials of aviation regulator DGCA said on Sunday. Officials said the bird was found in the glove compartment on the co-pilot’s side when the plane was at 37,000 feet.

He said the plane landed safely in Kochi. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is investigating the incident, he said.

Talking about the incident, officials said that prima facie it appears that there has been some lapse in ground handling at a foreign station.

In another incident, the Calicut-Dubai flight of Air India Express was diverted for Muscat on July 17 after a burning smell was noticed in the air in the cabin.
