Record Tourists Flock To Kashmir’s Gulmarg Amid Surprise Snowfall In May

With the temperature rising across the country, winter-like conditions prevailed in Kashmir. The famous ski resort of Gulmarg in the Kashmir Valley is surprising tourists with the heavy amount of snow that is falling now and it is bitterly cold. Downstream of Gulmarg, at 14000 feet above sea level, about 1 foot of snow is still there, which attracts thousands of tourists every day. Tourists are amazed to see people dressed in winter coats and woolen clothes in May. “We’re experiencing winter weather in the middle of summer; I didn’t expect it to be so cold.” It is hot and humid in Bengal, but it is snowing here. Satakshi Banerjee, a tourist, said, “We strongly recommend that everyone visit this paradise on earth.”

Tourists visiting Kashmir feel blessed as they get snow in this season, so they plan a trip to Kashmir. They also praise the valley for its beauty and the hospitality of the people.

A tourist said, “It is really heaven what we heard is better and in the month of May we get snow here and what more than what it is a dream come true.” We used to see it in movies, but now it’s much better in real life, and we really enjoyed it. The people are extremely friendly and helpful, and they will assist you without hesitation. People should visit Kashmir at least once in their life.”

The weather has changed dramatically in May, with recent snowfall in the higher reaches of the Kashmir Valley. The minimum temperature in the Union Territory is still below normal. Making it highly enjoyable for tourists visiting the Kashmir region. This has also increased the income of the local people. Hoteliers, traders and artisans of the valley have started the year 2023 on a grand note.

Tourist guide Syed Shaheen said, “It is God’s blessing for us because we still have snow here, and it brings tourists here, and we expect more tourists to come.”

This winter Gulmarg broke all previous records of tourist arrivals. All the hotels and guest houses of the hill station were fully booked during the entire winter season. Skiers from all over the world came to ski in the mountains of Gulmarg. Many winter festivals were organized for the tourists coming to Gulmarg during the snowfall and the visiting tourists got excited after seeing the breathtaking views here.
