Realme Mobile Offers: Realme announces the discontinuation of its X series, a few days before the launch of the Realme GT series – Times of India

The Realme GT series smartphone is set to make its India debut on 18 August. A few days ahead of the launch, Realme CEO Madhav Sheth has said that the company is discontinuing its X series in favor of the upcoming GT series. Speaking in an interview with TechRadar, Sheth said that ‘X will be replaced by GT; So the GT is the new X.”
That said, he emphasized that the company would continue to offer Smartphones Under other series – Realme C series, Realme Narzo series and numbered series.
Realme X was launched in July 2019
For those unaware, Realme introduced high-end feature phones under the X series at affordable prices. Realme launched its first phone under the X series in July 2019. The company then announced the Realme X as its first ‘affordable flagship’ with a starting price of Rs 16,999. It was also the company’s first phone to feature a pop-up camera. Realme to launch 2 GT series phones on August 18
Meanwhile, Realme is teasing the upcoming GT series as the flagship killer 2021. The company is expected to bring two smartphones under the series. The company will also launch the GT Master Edition handset along with the ‘Vanilla’ edition.
Sheth has already confirmed that the Indian model of the Realme GT will come with the same specifications and features as the global version. The handset is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset and offers an AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate.
On the pricing front, the handsets in the series are likely to be priced in excess of Rs 30,000. Sheth in an episode of #AskMadhav said that the Realme GT 5G is a flagship smartphone so it will cost above Rs 30,000.
