Ravi Shastri, India’s head coach at Center Court, enjoys Roger Federer in action

India coach Ravi Shastri came to Wimbledon to take a live catch to Roger Federer against Richard Gasquet. Shastri, who is the head coach of the Indian cricket team, made sure he utilizes the free time. Several members of the team are enjoying this period with Rishabh Pant having a great time at Euro 2020. Meanwhile the likes of Virat Kohli and Mayank Agarwal were spending some time with their better halfs.

“Great to be back on a sunny day at @wimbledon. Great tradition. Center court a little nod,” tweeted Shastri.

Wimbledon is happening for the first time in two years. Last year it was closed due to the corona epidemic.

WTC Finals- He is no less with the bat: MSK Prasad on Ravindra Jadeja

Former India selector MSK Prasad has said that it was appropriate to include Ravindra Jadeja in the playing XI for the WTC finals as he was a man with top all-round skills. Speaking exclusively to Sportskeeda, he argued against fans, who felt that Jadeja’s inclusion filled the space for a specialist Test batsman as India did poorly in the second innings.

He said, ‘Jadeja is no less than anyone with the bat. If we look at his recent Test record, he has done very well with the bat. Plus, he would have had an added advantage with the ball and on the field as well. Had Hardik Pandya been around, there would have been no other thought. But since he is not there, we needed one more all-rounder and we had only one spinning all-rounder.”

He also explained why Jadeja’s involvement even as a specialist spinner was legitimate as it was a five-day game and the pitch would have been helped by someone like him.

He said, ‘Jadeja had a reason to play. The reason was that if there was a whole game, there would be many footprints, they [NZ] There were many left-handers by his side against whom he could imagine his chances. If you really look at it, there was some spin offering which also helped Ashwin,” Prasad said.
