Shiv Nadar

Self-made billionaire and philanthropist Shiv Nadar, who is the co-founder of HCL Technologies, is among the top donors in India. According to Forbes, he has amassed a net worth of around $1.1 billion in a few decades for various social causes through the Shiv Nadar Foundation.

His per day donation in 2022 was around Rs 3 crore. Till 2022, he has donated around Rs 1,161 crore, mostly for education. The trustees of his foundation include his wife Kiran Nadar, daughter Roshni Nadar Malhotra and son-in-law Shikhar Malhotra.

Mukesh Ambani

Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani donated around Rs 411 crore in 2022 to various causes, especially education. According to various reports, during the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic, Reliance produced 1,000 tonnes of oxygen a day and provided over eight crore free meals to frontline workers.

Ratan Dada

Ratan Tata, the younger son of Jamshedji Tata, is one of India’s leading philanthropists. He has donated a significant part of his wealth. In 1919, the Ratan Tata Trust was established with a corpus of Rs 80 lakh, which currently exists as one of India’s oldest and most respected charity foundations.

Azim Premji

Wipro’s Azim Premji, 77, registered the second-highest donation of Rs 484 crore in 2022, according to the EdelGive Hurun India Philanthropy List 2022.

“Through our grants, we support a number of initiatives – at the community level of marginalized people, as well as at the level of the government service delivery system. For example, we support homeless people living on the streets of Kolkata. support our partners to provide shelter to the homeless, and improve last-mile access to welfare services for communities living in tribal areas of Andhra Pradesh,” according to the Azim Premji Foundation website.

According to reports, the value of Azim Premji Foundation is $ 21 billion (about Rs 1,737,47 crore).

Gautam Adani

Gautam Adani donated Rs 190 crore in 2022. He also pledged to donate Rs 60,000 crore to charity to mark his 60th birthday in June 2022. The energy group said in a statement.
