Earlier, several reports claimed that Ranbir Kapoor has turned down Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s proposed musical love story Baiju Bawra. But a source close to Bhansali was happy and angry with such news.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali and Ranveer Singh have worked together in three projects – Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram Leela, Bajirao Mastani and Padmaavat and they have proved to be super hits. All the three films have ruled the box office and the hearts of the audience. Now as per a Spotboye report, Bhansali is looking forward to cast the actor in his upcoming film Baiju Bawra. It would not be surprising at all if the actor-director duo collaborate for their fourth project as Baiju Bawra. However, it is further revealed that nothing has been finalized yet as Bhansali is concentrating on the casting of Heera Mandi.
Earlier, several reports said that Ranbir Kapoor has turned down Bhansali’s proposed musical love story. But a source close to Bhansali was happy and angry with such news. The source told the news portal that Ranbir was never offered the role, so there is no scope to turn down an offer. It further revealed that Ranbir had turned down an offer from Bhansali when the actor was offered Guzaarish. The role that was offered to Ranbir was later played by actor Aditya Roy Kapur.
Turning down the offer, Ranbir had said that he was not ready to play Hrithik Roshan in a supporting role. He was afraid that he would be typecast as a supporting actor. Earlier this year in May, it was also reported that actress Deepika Padukone, who has worked with Bhansali in several projects, is being considered to play the female protagonist in Baiju Bawra.
The 1952 musical film Baiju Bawra featured a young musician named Baiju who goes on to challenge the famous maestro Tansen in the court of the Mughal emperor Akbar. He challenges Tansen to a musical duel to avenge his father’s death. Bharat Bhushan and Meena Kumari played the lead roles.
