Ranji Trophy final: Madhya Pradesh enthralls RCB, RCB as they create history

Madhya Pradesh won their maiden Ranji Trophy title by defeating Mumbai at the Chinnaswamy Stadium. But the irony was that fans were busy chanting “RCB, RCB”, which must surely bring some kind of disgust to Ranji purists. This was not the first time that fans chanted the names of IPL franchises throughout the match. Earlier he also shouted “RCB, RCB” as Patidar scored a century in 3 days. Deepak Chahar was also at his best when he went out for a walk as he was greeted with the slogans “CSK, CSK”.

Now as Patidar scored the winning run, fans were again chanting RCB RCB slogans, even as players from MP came in the middle, celebrating the team’s historic victory in this grand old tournament.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Wednesday congratulated the state cricket team for winning the maiden Ranji Trophy title. The MP led by Aditya Srivastava created history by defeating Prithvi Shaw-led Mumbai by 6 wickets at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
Chasing a modest target of 108 runs, Himanshu Mantri scored 37 runs while Shubham Sharma scored 30 runs. Rajat Patidar played an unbeaten innings of 30 runs and took the winning run to the MP home.

MP CM Shivraj is extremely excited by the historic victory of the state cricket team. In a video shared by him on Twitter, he congratulated the team and said that the players will have a grand welcome in the capital city of Bhopal.

“Today, the entire state of Madhya Pradesh is happy and touched as the state cricket team has created history. MP won the Ranji Trophy title by defeating 41-time champion Mumbai. I congratulate head coach Chandrakant Pandit, captain Aditya Srivastava and the entire team, as it is a victory for the entire unit,” said the MP chief minister while talking to news agency ANI.
