Ranji Trophy 2022: ‘Individual performance affects you sometimes’ – Manish Pandey

India batsman Manish Pandey showed resilience in the Ranji Trophy quarter-final match against Uttar Pradesh as he worked hard during his 70-ball 27. Turning to Karnataka, Manish Pandey showed patience and courage while trying to get Karnataka out of trouble. However, he was dismissed by left-arm spinner Kumar. But fans could see the patience that was missing in the recently concluded IPL 2022 where he was also dropped from Lucknow Supergiants for 88 runs.

Looking back on the year, he said he has done ‘very well’, adding that poor domestic results bother him.

“Individual performances affect you sometimes, but whenever Karnataka doesn’t qualify for a knockout or a win, which we haven’t done for a while, it bothers me as a player. The goal as a group is to develop a good set of players for years to come, that’s what we want to do as a team.”

Pandey will play his 95th first-class match for Karnataka, confirming his identity as a senior cricketer.

“There will be ups and downs, but I think I’ve done well enough to be part of this team.” [for a long time], One thing is clear to all: no one is indispensable. This hat never came free to anyone. We all worked hard for this. that hard work and [hunger] Keeps me going even today. I will play my 95th game with the same intensity as my first,” the Karnataka captain was quoted as saying in a report in ESPN Cricinfo.

Meanwhile, Shivam Mavi and Saurabh Kumar shared seven wickets between them as Uttar Pradesh bundled out hosts Karnataka for 213 for seven on the opening day of the Ranji Trophy quarter-finals.
Manish Pandey struggled hard in 70 balls to try to get Karnataka out of trouble but was dismissed by left-arm spinner Kumar. The right-handed batsman was dismissed for 27 runs.

Mavi did most of the damage and broke the back of Karnataka’s batting, catching the two big wickets of Mayank Agarwal (10) and Karun Nair (29) in his scintillating 11-4-40-3 spell.
At close, Shreyas Gopal remained unbeaten on 26 off 47 balls but was supported by Vijaykumar Vyasak (12 not out).
