Ranjan Gogoi accused of sexual harassment for obstructing the work of Chief Justice

Once a Delhi court was embroiled in a sexual harassment case against former Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi. This time the Rajya Sabha MP has clarified in his autobiography. Thus Gogoi tried to obstruct the work from a particular place, thus denying the serious allegations leveled against him.

The former Supreme Court judge has written in his book that the hearing was very short and there was virtually no hearing. Gogoi himself was on the bench constituted for the case, which he criticized. However, Gogoi admitted that it was wrong for him to be on the bench at the time of the release of the book ‘Justice for the Judge’. According to him, the reputation he had built for 45 years was getting ruined then. Gogoi admitted that he should not have been on the bench at that time.

Incidentally, in 2019, a former woman activist of the Supreme Court filed a complaint against Gogoi. Thereafter, the Supreme Court constituted a bench to hear the matter. The bench was presided over by the then Chief Justice Gogoi. That bench had formed a committee of three judges, including two women judges, to look into the matter. He gave the clinch to Ranjan Gogoi. Gogoi said he did not sign the order, but added that it was an attempt by a particular party to obstruct his work.

In his autobiography, he also shared the story of all the judges drinking alcohol with the help of sugar after the hearing of the Ram temple case. He also mentioned this in detail while holding a press conference against the then Chief Justice Dipak Misra.
