Rani Mukerji Speaks On Collaborating With New Directors

New Delhi: The queen of hearts Rani Mukerji has worked with some great new directors. Her latest film, ‘Mrs. Chatterjee Vs Norway’ was directed by debutant director Ashima Chhibber. Rani has received unanimous appreciation globally for this film.

Rani believes that all the newcomers she has worked with have one thing in common. They are always eager to rock as they want to make the biggest mark on the industry with their first few films.

Rani says, “I am always excited about new directors because I believe they always have a hunger to disrupt and I love disruption. That’s definitely why I’ve worked with so many new or first-time directors and I feel fortunate to have found them and exchanged creative energy with them.

She further adds, “My collaborations with first-time directors started early in my career with Karan Johar in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai (KKHH), which gave relevance to the youth of the country at that time. It was wonderful collaborating with him creatively as he had an amazing story to tell and how skillfully he created KKHH!”

Rani further adds, “I have worked with Shaad Ali in his debut film Saathiya and he also gave me a film that I am very proud of in my filmography! Gopi Puthran is another excellent director who has directed the second installment of Mardaani! She has created an extremely independent and courageous woman on screen and I respect her for doing so because cinema can do a lot more to represent women well!”

Rani feels that these young, fiery minds have shaped her career in the most incredible way.

Rani says, “If you look at the list of new directors I have collaborated with, you will see how they have contributed to shaping my career, my craft and empowered me to find the love that I love Got throughout my journey in cinema. ,

She adds, “From stalwarts like Pradeep Sarkar, who directed me in Laaga Chunari Mein Daag, to visionaries like Kamal Haasan sir, with whom I collaborated for Hey Ram, or Siddharth Anand in Ta Ra Rum Pum or Raj Visionary mind like Kumar Gupta. No One Killed Jessica or sensitive storytellers like Reema Kagti in Talaash, Sidharth P Malhotra in Hichki and Ashima Chhibber in MCVN, working with all these people expanded my horizons as an actor.

Rani further adds, “Each of these films shaped me into the actor that I am today and I know that I have given my heart to these roles as well! I am constantly on the lookout for a challenge and fresh minds come my way which is why I love working with them. I love how subversive new minds can be. They fill me with an infectious energy which I develop on the sets. I will always try to unite with such talents in the years to come.
