The central agency conducted searches at eight places, including Ranganathan’s office and residence, they said.
“During searches, Rs 1.29 crore (approx), and gold jewelery and other valuables were recovered from the premises of the said accused (Ranganathan). CBI spokesperson RC Joshi said.
Officials said it is alleged that Ranganathan was taking bribes from the beneficiaries in view of exemptions to private companies that bought petrochemical products marketed by Maharatna PSUs.
