Bhupinder Babbal’s powerful rendition of the song Arjan Vailly from Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s film Animal is creating a buzz among movie enthusiasts. The song, featuring Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Bobby Deol, has become a social media sensation, with users incorporating it into countless reels on Instagram. The recently-released song has crossed 24 million views on YouTube, setting the stage for the highly anticipated release of Animal on December 1. Beyond its catchy beats and impressive visuals, the song’s title carries a deeper historical and cultural significance.

Arjan Vailly is made in the style of Dhadi-Vaar music, used by Guru Gobind Singh as a war cry against the Mughals to boost the spirits of his people. Originally sung by Kuldeep Manak, it revolves around Arjan Singh Nalva, also known as Arjan Vailly. He was the son of Hari Singh Nalwa, who served as the Commander-in-chief of the Sikh Khalsa Fauj in the 18th century. He was also called Baagh Maar for bravely defeating a tiger with a dagger while shielding himself from blows with a shield. The term ‘Vailly’ in the song signifies an exceptionally fierce individual, unbound by conventional laws.

The lyrics of Animal’s Arjan Vailly vividly describe Arjan Singh Nalwa’s fierce battle using his battle axe and other weapons, including the kirpan. The song portrays the intensity of the fight, likening Sikh warriors to bulls and depicting the flow of blood on the battlefield. The opening line of the song, “Ho Khade Vich Dang Khadke, Othe Ho Gayi Ladayi Bhari,” means there is a huge fight happening in the crowd. Meanwhile, the meaning of the widely popular line from the song “Arjan Vailly ne Pair Jod Ke Gandasi Maari” is Arjan Vailly swung the axe with full force by joining his feet.

The pre-teaser of the film shows this song in the background of scenes, where Ranbir’s character can be seen fighting off multiple enemies.

Animal unfolds the intricate saga of a business tycoon, Balbir Singh (Anil Kapoor) and his son Arjun Singh (Ranbir Kapoor). When tragedy hits Balbir, Arjun seeks revenge against his rival, Viraj Surve ( Bobby Deol), and promises to stand by his family, setting off a fierce gang war.
