Ranbir Kapoor revealed he had to do ‘this’ after he shot scenes for Animal to avoid getting beaten up by Alia Bhatt.
Ranbir Kapoor says his wife, Alia Bhatt, would have beaten him up if he remained in character after the shoot of Animal. The actor made the confession during the trailer launch of Animal, which took place on Thursday in New Delhi. Ranbir plays an intense and violent role in the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial. Although the role demanded a lot from Ranbir, mentally and emotionally, the actor was asked if he could detach from the character when he went back home.
The Animal star said it was important for him to switch off from the character because it was unfair for his family to be subjected to the character. “The switching on and switching off part was very important because when I was starting Animal, I became a father. Raha was born. I was going on set, doing all these things and going home and seeing my daughter was surreal. When you’re inspired, aapka kaam aasani se ho jaata hai (When you’re inspired, you are able to do your work easily). We wrapped the film in almost 100 days,” he said. Ranbir and Alia welcomed Raha in November 2022.
Ranbir added, “I am a detached person. I never take my character home. It’s not fair for my loved ones. Agar main ghar jaake aise act karta toh meri biwi mujhe maarti (If I acted like this at home, my wife would have beaten me up).”
Meanwhile, Alia was all praise for the Animal trailer. Sharing the trailer on Instagram and wrote, “Can’t really type a full caption – too busy watching this trailer for the 7000th time. My mind is officially blown. I need to watch this movie. Like now. ANIMAL: setting cinemas on fire from the 1st of December.” Even Neetu Kapoor was praised Ranbir. She confessed she felt goosebumps when she watched the actor in the trailer.
