The industry is in a celebratory mood with cinema halls opening after a long wait of more than two years. While films like Sooryavanshi, Aakhri and Tadap have performed well at the box office to varying degrees, it is just the cherry on the cake for the industry! While 2021 has ended on a good note for showbiz, the biggest players of the game like Ranbir Kapoor, Kartik Aaryan and Ranveer Singh seem to be beaming ear-to-ear with a stellar line-up for the upcoming 2022.
Though it has been a fruitful year for Kartik Aaryan with Dhamaka, a huge OTT hit, the actor has no time to rest and has moved on to his next, Shehzada. Currently shooting for the Rohit Dhawan directorial with Kriti Sanon in Delhi, she can often be seen posting pictures and videos from the shoot. Meanwhile, Balaji Motion Pictures’ Freddy which features him in lead roles alongside Alaya F has already been wrapped up and is scheduled to release in March 2022. As far as Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is concerned, this is another big film of his slated for a 2022 release.
Meanwhile, Kaptaan which is being directed by Hansal Mehta will go on floors once Kartik’s Shehzada is wrapped up and the film is also slated to release in 2022 itself. Wait, there’s more. Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment’s family drama, which was also announced earlier this year, will be shot soon and will be ready for release in 2022. No wonder, it seems that Kartik Aaryan has a long line-up of upcoming films, which indeed have a heavy year ahead.
Talking about Ranbir, his last release was the all time blockbuster film, Sanju, which released in 2018. Though he has not been seen on the big screen, peace will soon come to an end with notable films in 2022. Coming from her kitty. His period film Shamshera, which also stars Vaani Kapoor and Sanjay Dutt, is touted to be an action-drama that will release in March. Then there is Luv Ranjan’s film with Shraddha Kapoor, which is currently shot in Delhi and its release plans will be revealed soon. Kabir Singh, the second Hindi directorial of Animal, Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is set for the Dussehra 2022 festival arrival. The film is special as it will feature Ranbir Kapoor, Anil Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra together. Then of course there is a lot of buzz about Brahmastra, which is a great creation in the making and just recently unveiled its motion poster. Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film stars Alia Bhatt and Amitabh Bachchan along with Ranbir. No wonder, it is going to be a busy year for Ranbir too, and something that will end their long hiatus.
As far as Ranveer Singh is concerned, he has all the reasons to smile. Sooryavanshi, in which he played a role, is a super hit at the box-office, while ’83 is largely ready and will hit the theaters on December 24. The film chronicles India’s historic victory over the West Indies in 1983, where the country won its first World Cup. Then Ranveer has a comedy-drama, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, which will hit the screens in early 2022. Definitely a film directed by veteran director Shankar. Meanwhile, he has already shot the bulk of Rohit Shetty’s Circus and that film too is slated to release in 2022. Currently, Ranveer is busy shooting for Karan Johar’s Rocky and Rani’s love story with Alia Bhatt, which will be wrapped up soon.
