Ramya Krishnan has joined the crew for the shooting of the second season of the web series Queen. The Bahubali fame actress recently shared some pictures from the sets of Queen on social media. In the pictures shared on Instagram, she is seen in her character from Queen.
“Yeah yeah yeah (sic),” Ramya captioned the post with a praying emoji.
Several fans of Ramya reacted to his post in the comments section saying that they can’t wait for the second season.
The first season of this political drama queen premiered on MX Player in 2019. However, the film was surrounded by controversies and faced lawsuits. Later, the director of the series clarified in an interview that the series was not based on Jayalalithaa’s life.
In the interview, the director said that he and his team took some inspiration from Anita Sivakumaran based on her book of the same title, and after that, they came up with the story. If anyone finds resemblance to the life of former Tamil Nadu CM, it is not their fault.
Ramya is playing the main character of a powerful politician in the web series. In the show, Ramya played the lead character of Shakti Seshadri, a fictional character inspired by the former CM of Tamil Nadu, while Anjana Jayaprakash and Anikha Surendran portrayed the younger Jayalalithaa.
MX Player Production Queen is co-directed by Prasad Murugesan and the story is written by Reshma Ghatla.
The show divides the late CM’s life into three parts- one focuses on her life as a school going girl, the other as a teenager and the third phase leaving her acting career to join politics and the great MG Ramachandran’s Took place. , also known as MGR in Tamil Nadu politics.
