Several students were injured in a scuffle between two groups in Delhi’s Ramjas College campus on Tuesday. A senior police officer said that in their complaints, the students of the party alleged excesses by the other group, in which legal action is being initiated.

Reportedly, a group of students affiliated to the Students Federation of India (SFI) edited a caste-based slogan painted on a wall by supporters of Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) and replaced it with another caste-based one, the official said. changed to slogan.

“The verbal altercation led to a scuffle between supporters of both the groups,” the official said.

SFI condemns hooliganism

Earlier in the day, the SFI expressed concern over the safety of students on the campus and condemned the hooliganism at Ramjas College.

It said that three SFI workers were abused “verbally and physically” by some people after an argument.

“SFI condemns the lack of security of students on the Delhi campus and the hooliganism demonstrated at Ramjas College. We demand immediate and stern action against the perpetrators,” the Left students’ body said in a statement.

It alleged that the guards of the college also refused to act and stood as mere spectators.

“The attackers, who are suspected to be not genuine students of Ramjas, were given free entry into the campus and allowed out of the college gate after beating up final year graduate students, with no consequences,” the statement said. Didn’t come out.” ,
