The BJP brought in a resolution on Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir on the second day of its national council, calling the Ayodhya temple a marker of “national consciousness” and “renaissance of India’s culture”

It was visible from the very beginning, but now it’s official. On the second day of its national council, the BJP officially brought in a resolution on the newly inaugurated Ram Janmabhoomi Mandir in Ayodhya calling it a “cultural renaissance” and how Ram was mentioned in the original copy of the Constitution as well.

In a speech, union home minister Amit Shah hit out at the Congress for its role in creating roadblocks for the construction of the temple. Calling it a “historic and glorious achievement for the country”, the standalone resolution stated that the temple has laid the foundation of Ramrajya for the next 1,000 years. It said in his heart, Mahatma Gandhi also believed and wanted Ramrajya.

“Lord Ram, Mata Sita and Ramayana are present in every aspect of Indian civilisation,” the resolution stated. It further said the original copy of the Constitution had Ram while Ramrajya was also “in the heart of Gandhi”.

“Even in the original copy of the Constitution of India, on the section of fundamental rights, the picture of Lord Shri Ram, Mata Sita and Lakshman Ji after returning to Ayodhya after victory, is a proof of the fact that Lord Shri Ram is the source of inspiration for the fundamental rights,” it said.

The BJP’s Ram Mandir resolution said this is the beginning of a new ‘kaalchakra’ while hailing Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his role in making it a reality. The resolution states how January 22, when the Ram Lalla idol’s ‘pran pratishtha’ took place in Ayodhya, was celebrated as a national festival.

While calling the temple a marker of “national consciousness”, the BJP reminded how after the Supreme Court decision in 2019, the prime minister immediately formed a trust for it.

“January 22 was the day of accomplishment of Ram devotees, renaissance of India’s culture,” said the Ram Mandir resolution. It also said the nation freed itself of the slave mentality.

Hailing Prime Minister Modi’s role in the inauguration of the grand temple, the BJP resolution stated how the PM worked to connect spiritual heritage with the unity of the country.
