Several versions of Ramayan have appeared on Indian television over the years, but Ramayan starring Arun Govil and Dipika Chikhaliya remains one of the most iconic shows till date.

Actors Arun Govil and Dipika Chikhaliya Topiwala are best known as Ram and Sita from Ramanand Sagar’s Ramayan. After 34 years, the reel-life couple is all set to reunite for an upcoming project. Recently, Dipika Chikhlia shared a behind-the-scenes video from the sets on her Instagram handle, which shows her working with her Ramayan co-star. The video features the actress sitting in her vanity van, reading her script, walking around the sets, acting out her scenes and much more. The clip also shows Arun and Dipika sitting on a sofa, chatting with each other. “On set… BTS,” she wrote in the caption of the clip.

Needless to say, the video has made the fans very excited to see the two on screen again. A user wrote, “Mere Sitaram is together once again.” Another user wrote, “Can’t wait to watch it..Best wishes to the entire team!” Another user wrote, “This is awesome. Just can’t miss it.”

The actors have reportedly reunited for director Pradeep Gupta’s film, Notice. The film’s producer Aditya Pratap Singh Raghuvanshi recently told Midday that the film is a modern interpretation of Ramayana. Because the mythological offering dominated Govil and Chikhaliya’s public image, they felt they were the ideal choice to star in the film. He further added that it is a story of a weak man who fights for the truth and overcomes a corrupt administration. Singh also said that the film has been named so because it shows that whenever you get a notice, it brings with it some sort of problem.

Excited to work with Chikhaliya again, Arun Govil says it would be great to work with Deepika again. He said that he is playing the role of a common man fighting for justice and he agreed to act in the film as the character is a symbol of dharma and truth.

Several versions of Ramayan have appeared on Indian television over the years, but Ramayan starring Arun Govil and Dipika Chikhaliya remains one of the most iconic shows till date. Ramanand Sagar wrote, produced and directed the 1987 Doordarshan premiere of Ramayana, which instantly achieved cult status. The on-screen pairing of Arun Govil and Dipika Chikhlia Topiwala was so loved that they created the series Luv Kush, which ran till 1989.
