Notably, residents of Noida will also be able to ride Metro on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan as Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) announced the resumption of Aqua-Line rail service for riders from this Sunday (August 22) .

“The weekend curfew has been lifted by the UP government on Sunday as well. Accordingly, NMRC has decided to resume Metro Rail service every Sunday. This change will be effective from August 22 (Sunday),” NMRC Managing Director Ritu Maheshwari was quoted as saying by PTI.

Metro trains will run from 6 am to 10 pm from Monday to Saturday and on Sunday trains will run from 8 am to 10 pm.

“The trains will run at 10-minute intervals during peak hours (8 to 11 am and 5 to 8 pm) and at 15-minute intervals during non-peak hours from Monday to Frida,” Maheshwari said.

Metro trains between Noida and Greater Noida will also not leave the stations during the weekend. “Metro train services on Saturdays and Sundays will be available at 15-minute intervals throughout the day without leaving the stations,” he said.

This is in reference to NMRC’s operation of ‘fast trains’ during peak hours on weekdays, which skip some stations with fewer passengers to save time for commuters between Noida and Greater Noida.
