After Disha Vakani aka Dayaben’s exit from Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah almost five years ago, many names flooded social media for her replacement. Earlier, it was said that Disha Vakani will return to the show and reprise her role. However, recently there has been talk of replacing him with a new face, which actress Rakhi Vijan was seen. However, on her social media, the actress denied the reports about her entry in the show as Dayaben.
Popularly remembered for her iconic character Sweety Mathur in the 90s sitcom ‘Hum Paanch’, Rakhi was roped in to play Dayaben.

The Hum Paanch actress denied the rumors of being a part of the comic sitcom. Sharing a post on Instagram, Rakhi wrote that the news of replacing Disha came as a shock to her, “Hello everyone1..this news is a rumour…”.
Earlier, it was reported that “Rakhi Vijan has been approached to play the role of Dayaben. Rakhi is one of the most talented actresses. She has good comic timing.” Vijan has earlier been a part of shows like ‘Dekh Bhai Dekh’, ‘Banegi Apni Baat’, ‘Naagin 4’. He has also worked in Bollywood films like ‘Golmaal Returns’. Meanwhile, producer Asit Kumar Modi had recently informed the media that the famous character will be back on the story but he cannot confirm the return of Disha Vakani. The viewers of the show are missing their favorite Disha Vakani. For those unaware, she took a maternity break in September 2017 and never came back.
