Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Saturday (June 4) expressed confidence that all four candidates of the ruling alliance in Maharashtra will win the Rajya Sabha polls and said he wants the polls to be postponed so that horse-trading does not happen.

Raut accused the BJP of using central investigative agencies against political rivals.

“We wanted to postpone the dates of Rajya Sabha elections so that there is no horse-trading. BJP’s intention is clear, they want to use money and central investigative agencies to destroy the environment. We are in power here, they have to This should not be forgotten,” Raut told reporters.

The Shiv Sena leader said the Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) has four candidates in the Rajya Sabha polls and the ruling alliance will win all the four seats.

“The MVA has four candidates in the Rajya Sabha elections and it will win all the seats. For those who have doubts on the sixth seat, our Shiv Sena candidate will go to the Rajya Sabha by winning it with good votes,” he said.

The BJP has fielded three candidates in Maharashtra and is contesting for the Rajya Sabha seats. Voting for Rajya Sabha seats will be held on June 10.

There is also competition in Rajasthan, Karnataka and Haryana. During the biennial elections, 41 candidates have been elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha.
