While developments in the Indian Ocean region, where China seeks to increase its presence, are also likely to be discussed, such summits are rarely held on board warships. In December 2015, Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a joint commanders’ meeting aboard India’s other aircraft carrier, INS Vikramaditya, off the Kochi coast. Modi has been in favor of organizing important events outside the national capital.

INS Vikrant has its own strategic importance hence trying to do takeoff and landing for DRDO and others or with its own fighter aircraft including light combat aircraft, Tejas Marine variant as well as this Russian origin, mig29 Kand And successfully took off on INS Vikrant.
