Rajkummar Rao on why Patralekha applied sindoor to him: ‘I will not see anyone below me’. Specific

These days Rajkummar Rao is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film Hit: The First Case. The film also stars Sanya Malhotra in the lead role and is a remake of the Telugu film of the same name. Directed by Shailesh Kolanu, the film will hit the theaters on July 15. News18 Shosha got a chance to interact with the actor ahead of the film’s release. We spoke to Rajkumar about many things including his marriage to Patralekha.

When Rajkummar Rao tied the knot with Patralekha in November last year, he even asked his girlfriend to apply sindoor on his forehead. While the gesture left many impressed and in utter awe, we asked Rajkummar if he too faced trolling on social media for the same reason. To this, the actor mentioned that he doesn’t read the comments and revealed that the gesture was not planned, but very impulsive.

“No not really. I didn’t really read all the comments, but I know a lot of people picked it up and a lot of articles were being written well. People appreciated it and it was something that a lot Was impulsive. Neither of us had planned it. I am someone who truly believes in equality and will never look down on anyone. We are both equal and should be so. So, yes “It was very impulsive and not planned. I am glad that it happened and I am hoping that it will strike people’s hearts somewhere,” he told News18 Shosha.

During the conversation, the 37-year-old actor also talked about playing an intense character in Hit: The First Case. When asked whether it is difficult to play such a role on screen, Rajkummar shared that no character is as easy as the one that an actor goes through to progress. “It is. It could have been easy to just fake it but I’m not that. I really like to prepare a lot for my character, like go deep into their psyche and work on the physical aspects. But I Enjoyed it,” he said.

“I wouldn’t say it’s easy or hard, I would say that every character is tough, it depends on how you look at it, and what your intentions are with that character. As long as you do it for yourself You want to advance yourself as an actor, then you take it seriously and it is not easy,” Rao said.

Rajkummar Rao was also asked if the release of Hit: The First Case in theaters before the release put pressure on him. The actor declined and said, “I think it has always been so, there were a lot of releases even before the pandemic. In 52 Fridays, we make 100 films every year. That pressure has always been there but you have to choose your fight.”
