Rajinikanth-Nelson’s Jailer 2 will be called Hukum, as per the latest reports.

As Rajinikanth’s fans are eagerly awaiting an update on his film with Lokesh Kanagraj, there is now an update on his film with Nelson – Jailer 2. As per the latest reports, Jailer 2 is tentatively titled Hukum and Nelson will begin the pre-production work from June 2024.

According to the latest reports, the first draft of Jailer 2 is final and the team is very happy with Nelson’s idea. “Nelson is invested in exploring more of Rajinikanth as Tiger aka. Muthuvel Pandian and has cracked a perfect sequel to take the story forward. His idea has got approval from Rajinikanth and Sun Pictures, and Nelson is now all set to start the pre-production work from June 2024,” a source told Pinkvilla.

The source also added that the makers want to take the film on floors by the end of this year. It will begin after Rajinikanth wraps up shooting for Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Thalaivar 171. “Jailer 2 will roll by the end of this year/early 2025 depending on the time taken by Lokesh Kanagaraj for his next with Rajinikanth… The film has been tentatively titled Hukum – a phrase that became synonymous with Rajinikanth after the release of Jailer. The makers are contemplating on two titles – Jailer 2 and Hukum – wherein most of the members are inclined towards the title Hukum,” the source added.

As for Thalaivar 171, there were reports that he had charged a whopping Rs 250+ crore for this film. Another report published in the Koimoi portal has indicated that the Jailer actor is charging Rs 260-280 crore for Thalaivar 171. Nothing has been officially confirmed regarding this news as of now. If the rumours are true, then, Rajinikanth has created history as this amount reportedly makes him the highest-paid actor in Asia. Thalaivar 171 stars an ensemble cast of Prithviraj Sukumaran, Ranveer Singh and Parvathy Thiruvothu with the film in the pre-production stage now.
