Last week Aishwarya Rajinikanth and Dhanush R announced their separation. The married couple, who had been married for 17 years, issued a joint statement confirming their separation. “Eighteen years of togetherness as friends, couple, as parents and as well-wishers of each other. The journey has been one of growth, understanding, adjustment and adaptation. Today we stand at a place where our paths diverge. (We) have decided to separate as a couple and take the time to understand us as individuals for the better,” his statement read.
While fans were saddened by the news, Dhanush’s father Kasturi Raja considered Aishwarya and Dhanush’s separation “a family feud”. Now, a new report claims that Rajinikanth has been badly affected by Aishwarya and Dhanush’s decision to part ways. A source told Subhash K Jha, as for Viian, that Rajinikanth ‘took his daughter’s breakup very badly.’ It is also said that Rajinikanth wants Aishwarya to ‘rectify his marriage’ with Dhanush. The report says that Dhanush’s family is also pressurizing the couple to reconcile.
The insider also claimed that ‘fights between the couple were not uncommon’. Dhanush and Aishwarya alleged that they had “bitter differences”. However, Rajinikanth always managed to ‘convince him to stay together’. Meanwhile, Rajinikanth is yet to make a public statement about Aishwarya and Dhanush’s separation. The veteran actor was last seen greeting fans on Pongal, days before his statement of separation made headlines.
A source told India Today that the former couple has not disclosed the reason for their separation given that Dhanush’s style of working took a toll on their family life. Meanwhile, Aishwarya and Dhanush are already busy with their work. Aishwarya is currently directing a Valentine’s Day music video in Hyderabad. A report in Times of India claims that Dhanush is also on the spot shooting for his upcoming project. They are reportedly staying in the same hotel.
