Rajinikanth to undergo surgical procedure, likely to be discharged in a few days

ChennaiMegastar Rajinikanth successfully underwent a surgical procedure called carotid artery revascularization at a hospital here on Friday. A top official of Kaveri Hospital said that the actor’s health is improving and he is likely to be discharged in a few days.

Rajinikanth was admitted to Kauvery Hospital here on Thursday after suffering from dizziness.

In a statement, Dr Aravindan Selvaraj, Co-Founder and Executive Director, said, “He was thoroughly assessed by an expert panel of doctors and he was advised to undergo carotid artery revascularisation.”

Dr. Selvaraj said, “The procedure was done successfully today (October 29) and he is recovering. He is likely to be discharged from the hospital after a few days.”

On Thursday, Dadasaheb Phalke Awardee Rajinikanth tweeted that he watched his upcoming film ‘Annathe’ with his grandson on Wednesday.

Last year, Rajinikanth decided not to take the much-awaited political move, citing his health condition.

At the time, Rajinikanth said that doctors had advised him that fluctuations in blood pressure would affect his transplanted kidney.
