Tamil superstar Rajinikanth is currently gearing up for the release of his action film, Jailer. The actor recently celebrated his 72nd birthday on January 12. At his birthday party, the makers released an intriguing teaser of the film wishing Rajinikanth in a unique way. Apart from Jailer, Rajinikanth has reportedly signed another film with Chandramukhi director P Vasu, tentatively titled Thalaivar 171.

As per the reports, the pre-production work of Thalaivar 171 is already in process. Rajinikanth had previously worked with filmmaker P Vasu in several films including Panakkaran, Kuselan, Mannan and Chandramukhi. This robot will mark the fifth collaboration of the actor and the filmmaker. Currently, P Vasu is working with Telugu actor Raghava Lawrence for Chandramukhi 2. Rajinikanth is also a part of the big budget project.

Reportedly, the director has taken a short hiatus from the shoot of Chandramukhi 2 to focus on the new script of Rajinikanth’s Thalaivar 171. Some days.

Apart from Thalaivar 171, Rajinikanth may also join hands with Sibi Chakraborty or Pradeep Ranganathan after shooting for Jailer. However, until Rajinikanth reveals who exactly he plans to work with after Jailer, it is still shrouded in mystery.

Earlier, speculations were rife that Rajinikanth has agreed to work with P Vasu for the 1991 film Chinna Thambi. Later, it was reported to be a rumour, which was debunked by both the actor and the director. P Vasu and Rajinikanth’s Chandramukhi was a blockbuster. If the speculations turn out to be true, Thalaivar 171 will raise the anticipation levels high among the fans.

Meanwhile, speaking of Jailer, the Tamil language action film boasts of an ensemble cast which includes Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Priyanka Mohan, Shiva Rajkumar, Ramya Krishnan, Trisha Krishnan, Vasanth Ravi and Yogi Babu in lead roles. Bankrolled by Sun Pictures, the film is slated to hit the theaters on April 14.
